Key Lime Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter Recipe

Okay so I have been on a journey the last few months into the homemade and all natural world. I’ve always liked to eat healthy (or fairly healthy), but I’ve always bought my products (lotions and shampoos) at the store and thought…whatever right? I think not. The more research I do the more fascinated I become with all the possibilities available to make your own products and to have them chemical free!

Since I have dry skin and it gets really bad during the winter months, I’ve tried different lotions to help my skin feel great. I am sure I could spend a ton of money on it and have skin as soft as a baby’s bottom, but that doesn’t appeal to me. So when I came across coconut oil and all the benefits that it has to help nourish your skin I started to think I might be on to something.

I stumbled on to whipped coconut oil body butter and I thought, “That sounds like heaven!” Since using the Key Lime Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter even my dry and cracked heels are now nice and soft! I couldn’t believe it. I feel like I have found a miracle and can’t believe that everyone doesn’t know about this! So after trying this out for a few months I now can’t wait to share this recipe with you! Drum roll please…..

Key Lime Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter Recipe

1/2 Cup Coconut Oil

2 Tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel (Pure Aloe gel without die – This is a clear gel)

1 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil

20 Drops Lime Essential Oil

20 Drops Lemon Essential Oil

Instructions

1. Place all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Note: Do not melt the coconut oil first. The oil must be in solid form in order to whip it up.

2. Mix with an electric mixer (can be a hand mixer) on high speed with a wire whisk attachment for 3-7 minutes or until the mixture is whipped into a light airy consistency.

3. Spoon the whipped coconut oil body butter into a jar or container and cover tightly. Store at room temperature, or in the refrigerator if your house is so warm it melts the oil.

Tip: If your coconut oil is to soft to whip up try putting the bowl in the freezer for a few minutes before mixing.

All right everyone I hope you enjoy this wonderful recipe and let me know how much you love it in the comments below! I love hearing from you.
